Tonight a clip from my "WIN THE BEAST" competition entry was aired on ABC2 - Good Game. It was slightly edited though, as I noticed one sentence was removed. But all up its a pretty finger licking preview. I'll let you know when it's up to the voting stages on the competition!

New website in the works!
Above: New website previewJust recently I started working extremely hard on getting my new website together. It's going to be all based around inside the TV in my bedroom, with SNES like pixel art.
I'm against people ripping sprites from the net and using them as their own, so everything in the website is 100% made by myself. It's also my first time working with the whole pixel art style. I rather enjoy it.
This blog will be a part of the new website, of course.
Aiming to get this done before my TV debut.

Wai-Con - Perth Australia
Supposedly I'm going to this Wai-Con anime convention. I don't know much about it, just that there's a lot of anime and video game competitions happening down there. Might be alright, not huge on anime though. Not sure what day I'm going on, but you're bound to see me walking around the convention if you keep a sharp eye out for a guy in a Good Game shirt.
9th - 10th December @ Arena Joondalup.

WoW + Animator = Unproductive + Burning Crusade = Worried
It's been a while since I've "ventured" into the world of Azeroth. I've been to caught up in things here and there. I started playing in April, but I still haven't found the time to get my main character to 60. I've pre-paid for my copy of The Burning Crusade, but I'm still yet to get my Mage to level 60 so he can enjoy the new content on release.
But I'm afraid that once I get back into WoW, once the new content is release I'll be sitting here wishing I didn't start playing again. I need to balance out my play time with my productive work, it's not easy.
It's undoubtedly one of the most addictive games out on the market today, I somewhat fear it now that I've seen why. This isn't the first MMO i've played though, I use to play a indie game called Astonia (V2) back in 2000, that was extremely low graphics, but man was I heavily addicted to it.
MMOs + Me = Scary.
I think my girlfriend thinks the same thing. I'll just have to try not to play in front of her.
G Man is Horny - Should it be remade?
For those of you that haven't heard of it, this little piece was a rather unheard of small effortless animation I made about a year and a half ago, with the help of a friend. It's a parody of the intro to Half-Life 2 where G Man is supposed to be waking up Gordon Freeman. It's pretty much a series of incredibly immature voice edits, to make him say things like "I've had some extra ordinary intercourse.. Dr. Freeman".
It got a really good response from the few people who saw it on the website SheezyArt. I really found it hilarious, probably to hilarious. I was planning to remake it, but honestly... I'm to afraid that Michael Shapiro (the G Man voice actor) and Valve would hunt me down and kick my ass. I don't know how they'd take something like this, even as a joke.
What do you think? Is this something that could lead to my demise? I have a strong feeling something like this could have turned into VIRAL internet content.
What do you think?
In the running! w00t!

Some n00bs sent me a letter in the mail today. Something to do with a Beast? And winning it? Crazy people.
"Hey Gamer,

-Good Game Team"
"The Pitch" for teh win!
I think there's going to be a voting process soon... Sounds fun. Be sure to vote for me, or I'll stop loving you.

Where's RubberNinja?
A lot of people were asking me over AIM after the release of TSAH2, what happened to me being a part of the collaboration? I mean, I was supposed to be arranging it, surely I would take part in my own project, right?
Sadly not. A while ago I lost most of my interest in the project and found it hard to work on. Felt like I was more or less doing it for the fans then doing it for myself. That and I get very little enjoyment out of animating parody work now. I'd much rather be working with my own original ideas.
That and making animations for Newgrounds doesn't exactly keep the car full of petrol or the beer glass full. The more I lost interest, the more free time I lost to work on the project. Damn shame, because supposedly it got sponsorship from Tom Fulp in the end. Probably could have filled a few glasses with beer.
Don't get me wrong here, I love animating for Newgrounds. I consider it my hobbie, whilst animation in general is my profession of choice. I hope to work on some top quality stuff for Newgrounds next year when I can find the time. I have a few ideas up my sleeve, just need to find time to pull them out.
And no, there are no plans for a TSAH3. I don't even think I'll even be getting a 360, so I can't see that happening (going back to Nintendo). Though if someone else wanted to take the project on board, they'd be more then welcome to.
How it happened.

Well someone was asking me recently how I landed this tiny job with the show Good Game. So I thought I'd explain!
A while ago my lecturer down at SAE college (where I study Maya) was talking to me about a Australian show that had interviewed the guys from Pure Pwnage. He told me to check it out at their site, so I did. I was impressed to see that this was the first Australian gaming related TV series that I could honestly say that I enjoyed. Most Australian gaming related TV shows revolve around a pretty face doing utter bullshit that has nothing to do with reviewing the game at hand. It's depressing sad to see. Like I was already feeling, the Good Game crew states on one of their bios - that it's an almost insulting approach to the gaming culture. Well put.
So after viewing this interview with Jeremy (Jarret Cale), I sent them a compliment saying that "I enjoyed the show and wished them luck", I also offered my services as a flash animator. At the end of the email they I linked them off to my most recent showreel (August 06 version).
A week later (24th of October) I received a reply from Janet, one of the series producers. She said she was interested in getting me working on a small project for her. But also told me about the competition they were holding to win a $4000 PC. I was extremely interested. I mean wow, I've never had the chance to get any of my animation stuff on TV before, that's a huge step for me. I was on it like a sack of taters! Haven't felt motivation like that in a good 2 years.
Well now that I've finished, they're sending me a Good Game t-shirt! I'll probably wear it to Wai-Con the local anime convention my girlfriends friends are dragging me along to. I have to mail the DVD with all the files over to ABC Sydney tomorrow!
So once again. Everyone! If you're from Australia, tune in to Good Game - ABC2 8:30pm Tuesday December 12th! It's the final episode of season 1.
If you miss out, don't worry. The show is repeated during the week and can also be downloading online from the Good Game website!
Hope you watch!

Good Game - ABC2
Above: Disarming the bombRecently I started a working on a small freelance job for "Good Game", a show about the gaming industry on ABC2 (digital television). This should be airing on December 12th and i'll probably be done animating it middle of next week!
Above: Richard FarcastI've also animated a small cartoon about this fellow and his attempt of pitching an idea to a major gaming production studio. It's called, "The Pitch!". It was made for Good Games "Win The BEAST" competition, I finished this about 2 weeks ago. Spent about a week and a half on it. It's entirely voiced by Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson.
I've been extremely busy with these two animations as of late, it's a great boost of motivation to get me back on track with my animation work. I've been slightly out of it for the past few months. Feels good to be getting back on track with it all.
Wish me luck!
