G Man is Horny - Should it be remade?
For those of you that haven't heard of it, this little piece was a rather unheard of small effortless animation I made about a year and a half ago, with the help of a friend. It's a parody of the intro to Half-Life 2 where G Man is supposed to be waking up Gordon Freeman. It's pretty much a series of incredibly immature voice edits, to make him say things like "I've had some extra ordinary intercourse.. Dr. Freeman".
It got a really good response from the few people who saw it on the website SheezyArt. I really found it hilarious, probably to hilarious. I was planning to remake it, but honestly... I'm to afraid that Michael Shapiro (the G Man voice actor) and Valve would hunt me down and kick my ass. I don't know how they'd take something like this, even as a joke.
What do you think? Is this something that could lead to my demise? I have a strong feeling something like this could have turned into VIRAL internet content.
What do you think?

Due to innumerable region, territory or country cultural specific reasons, a video game, already released in some places and that looks absolutely fine in one territory might be disregarded as unacceptable once released in a new territory. This is one of the reasons why video game adaptation - contrary to mere translation- is a must for games.
But these facts raise an important questions: when does localization cross the line of censorship? Should gamers accept this?
I will show you a simple example, I'll use the newest installment in the Yakuza series. Yakuza 3 - an imported Japanese PlayStation game - was recently released in the US. Almost immediately, it came under fire for the huge cuts it suffered at the hands of Western localizers. Apparently, a significant chunk of the cut scenes, minigames, and events were removed from the US release, deemed "inappropriate" for American audiences.
Now the question is: do all of these elements actually required to be changed? Isn't that just based on a stereotype that American gamers tend to be more religious and concerned about nudity and violence? It was certainly a disappointment for gamers who expected to have the same game as the Japanese one after reading reviews and news in video game magazines or forums.
Now if you look at it, most gamers actually are adult and will absolutely not care to find certain elements. In fact, their absence may come as a huge disappointment for them and alter their gaming experience. So should developers think a little more about what public they are targetting, or just assume anyone may buy the game by accident, and thus edit it?.
Game translation is an important process to bring games to new people, and shouldn't be taken that lightly.
